Graham Van Roekel, CPA - Owner
After nearly a decade of working in the field of public accounting, I decided to start my own business to provide higher-value tax and financial services tailored to my clients’ specific needs. Born and raised in Lexington, North Carolina, I grew up an ardent Wolfpack fan, and math was my favorite subject in school. This led me to attend North Carolina State University for both an undergraduate and a graduate degree in accounting. Shortly after graduating, I obtained my CPA license and have worked as an accountant and financial advisor here in Raleigh for the past 13 years.
After working in various fields of public accounting, including audit, tax, bookkeeping and payroll, I soon realized that tax advisory and financial planning were my true passions. In providing these services, it became apparent how important it is to develop a genuine rapport with clients. I really enjoy getting to know my clients both personally and financially. The best way to help you achieve your financial goals is to first get to know you well on a personal level. That way, we can align your priorities with your financial goals. It is very rewarding to know that I have helped improve my clients’ lives by saving them money on their taxes and helping them achieve financial freedom. This allows them to focus on what’s most important: living their lives to the fullest.
You are probably wondering how this is accomplished and what sets me apart from other financial professionals. First, a thorough understanding of the tax code is fundamental to providing any type of financial service. Additionally, as a CPA, I am ethically required to be your fiduciary and have your best interests at heart. I am here to provide you with objective, knowledgeable, value-added financial services. Unlike many financial advisers, I am not in the business of selling insurance or investment products for a commission or a management fee. I specialize in integrating tax advisory with financial planning services because I strongly believe that they are so closely related that they should be handled in tandem. The key to my approach is first getting to know you on a deeper level in order to obtain a better understanding of what type of financial services you are looking for. Everyone’s situation is unique; therefore, truly valuable financial services should be tailored to meet the specific needs and complex circumstances of the particular client. Once I learn what your major goals are and what obstacles are in your way to achieving those goals, then we can work together to get you where you want to be.
My experience has taught me that you can’t be an expert at everything. You have to focus on what you are good at and what you enjoy doing. That’s why, in many cases, I work with my clients’ investment advisers, insurance brokers, lawyers, and other professionals to make sure we are incorporating all aspects of our clients’ financial planning toward the achievement of their goals.
Whether you’re a small business looking for accounting services or an individual in need of tax advisory and retirement planning, the key to achieving the desired result is for your financial professional to have a keen understanding of your particular situation and personal goals. It would be a privilege for me to have the opportunity to work with you as your financial professional.
Sincerely,
Graham Van Roekel, CPA
